5-Spiced Salmon with a Cilantro Tamari Yogurt Aioli

One of my favorite meals to make besides salmon and sweet potato toast are Trader Joe’s gnocchis. You can serve them with a variety of sauces and they blend so well together. I especially love them with salmon on the side, making it a whole and balanced meal. I also made this Cilantro Tamari Yogurt Aioli to go with it.

What do you need to make this Sweet Chili Cauliflower Gnocchi, 5-Spiced Salmon and Cilantro Tamari Yogurt Aioli?

-Chinese 5-spice
-coconut oil

How do you make this Sweet Chili Cauliflower Gnocchi, 5-Spiced Salmon and Cilantro Tamari Yogurt Aioli?
First, season the salmon with the salt and Chinese Five Spice. Heat a pan with some coconut oil and coconut aminos on medium high heat and sear the salmon for 2 minutes per side. Top the salmon with some cilantro.

Next, make the dip. To make the dip, mix together all the ingredients- yogurt, mayo, tamari, coconut aminos, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, and lime juice, for the dip until smooth. Ingredients

  • Salmon
  • -1 lb salmon
  • -salt to taste
  • -½ tsp Chinese 5-spice
  • -1 tbsp coconut oil
  • -2-3 tsp coconut aminos
  • -cilantro for garnish
  • Dip
  • -⅓ cup yogurt
  • -1-2 tbsp organic mayo
  • -1 ½ tsp tamari
  • -1 ½ tsp coconut aminos
  • -¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • -¼ tsp garlic powder
  • -¼ tsp onion powder
  • -1-2 tsp lime juice
  • Toppings
  • -avocado
  • -baby spinach

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon with the salt and Chinese Five Spice. Heat a pan with some coconut oil and coconut aminos on medium high heat and sear the salmon for 2-4 minutes per side (you may need an additional 3-4 minutes if the salmon is thicker) . Top the salmon with some cilantro.
  2. To make the dip, mix together all the ingredients- yogurt, mayo, tamari, coconut aminos, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, onion powder, and lime juice, for the dip until smooth.
  3. Serve the salmon with some avocado, baby spinach, the dip, and cauliflower gnocchi.
